PURRRRRRMETHEOUS

…as Robert Burns wrote about a mouse
I speak of the cat too far from the house

Why is it we stray
Each day’s a new step away
from nature’s nature.

“I’m truly sorry Man's dominion
Has broken Nature's social union.”

let us not go there
that step away from nature
with fluorescent fur

desirable cat
with stripes or blocks of patterns
Some got spots, some not

We’ll save a species
with crossbreeding and science
but don’t change kittens
De wee kitten
purrrrrrrrfect
purrrrm

bad robber tampers
burns me mad
stops kittens beings.

“I’m truly sorry Man's dominion
Has broken Nature's social union.”

Animosity Anonymous

Oh yes, princess, you were yesterday
when I felt like a Vonda Shepard song
words flashing my mind cruder than “fuck you.”

I grew up the moment I knew my parents were wrong,
not when I met you, I pray you do confront peace
not the war you wage while I beg help

I’m revving up my game with a smile
my friends—my team frees constraints of snobs, so thanks
nobody’s perfect but we don’t dwell on complaints!

I see me thinking, then following energy
and flowing the building into infinity
of bringing deep and inspiring thinking——shhhhh.

Of course as a progressive queen
I debate whether to be worshipping me or servicing ye
as we prance and dance with my dragon in harmony…
or was that Honali?
hee hee!!
ho’ ho’!

New Haiku!!

Healing with Haiku:
Simply hug some favorite words.
Then share them forward!

It's a joy to reconnect with folks who supported my crowdfunding campaign. It's taking some extra time. So, if you haven't heard from me yet, you will!
In the meantime, this Haiku is from a poem in THE LEIGHTON EXPLOSION about Rick Derringer. (He's one of my faves.)

The book is available on a variety of sites from Amazon to Soul Asylum Poetry and Publishing. A personalized, autographed copy of the book is currently only available from me at http://anneleighton.com/store/
