“Silent gratitude isn’t very much use to anyone.”

-Gertrude Stein

Thank you to all my friends, neighbors, countrymen, animals, inhabitants of the universe, my clients.

Grateful to have so much support as a writer with two books (COMMON SENSE CONSULTING an e-book and my poetry book,THE LEIGHTON EXPLOSION, which is selling surprisingly well--beyond the #crowdfunding campaign.) I'm signing with a booking agent for my poetry; he sought me out. I can control how often I tour, as well, and am looking at June - July 2017 to start.

Thank you, friends, that worked on our power pop Christmas single, GOT MY EYE ON YOU, SANTA, which is getting airplay on military radio.

Jody Quine & the Big Mr. C’s GOT MY EYE ON YOU, SANTA’s credits are listed on the song’s Soundcloud page. Mr. C is Dan Berggren, a veteran and my radio teacher from college; he’s now a folk singer/songwriter, this weekend, performing SONG OF THE WOLF with the West Virginia Symphony Orchestra right before Thanksgiving.) If you’re connected with the armed forces and media, join our SANTA party.

I love all my artists, especially Ian Anderson, Joe Deninzon, John Hall, King Llama, Grand Funk Railroad, Gary Lucas, and my sister-in-spirit Ms. Phoebe Legere. In 2017 I’m working with guitarists Jeremy Bar-Illan and Allan Holdsworth. Stay tuned for info about a very special date in New York City with keyboardist Patrick Moraz happening real soon.

Thank you to so many people for believing in me. A lot of people didn’t, and while that caused heartbreak, I know that manifesting love creates, conquers, and heals so much. Thank you to my friends.

My biggest wish is to reach across the different aisles, and improve people’s compassion, as well as finding ways to nurture our environment back to sanity. Mother Earth is in trouble, and I am thankful to everyone that listens to one another so we can have thoughtful dialog.

Listen to people that hurt so much that they need an understanding friend to sit with them and help them. Please never rely on cliche’ ways to bury anyone’s feelings under rugs, crawlspaces, or where ever Jimmy Hoffa rests, perhaps in peace.

#Thankful, #Gratitude, #Peace In!

Anne Leighton on Grammy-Nominated Album

I'm on an album, HEALTHY FOOD FOR THOUGHT: GOOD ENOUGH TO EAT that was nominated for a Grammy in “Best Spoken Word Album for Children.” Also on the album is my artist Jann Klose, and former client Uncle Floyd, plus friends Beatle Bob, Michael O'Keefe, radio host Gene Shay, plus Moby, Sweet Honey in the Rock, Julian Lennon, and Tom Chapin. The album's creators are Kevin Mackie, and producers Jim Cravero, Paula Lizzi & Steve Pullara. It took Kevin and company over two years to put together this album. It is very well done.

On January 28, there'll be a record release party for HEALTHY FOOD FOR THOUGHT at Peter Max Studios, in New York City for The New York Coalition for School Food. I'LL BE PERFORMING AND WILL HAVE JOE DENINZON ON MANDOLIN, ACCOMPANYING ME!!! I am also bringing Jahmane Bright, who is my co-producer for my album, and he would love to meet you. That's my posse. I also understand Jann Klose is bringing his posse as he's performing at this event. Acclaimed-jazz clarinetist Oran Etkin will also be on stage.
